WIRE FRAUD NOTICE:
Wire Fraud is a serious problem in the real estate closing business. Fraudsters who obtain information about a closing often attempt to trick buyers into sending their money for closing to a fraudsters account via fraudulent wire instructions that appear to come from the closing agent. To help combat the efforts of the fraudsters:
-
J&M will never demand by email or phone call that you wire funds for closing.
-
J&M will only send wire instructions by email if you specifically request that we send them.
-
J&M will always send wiring instructions via encrypted email or with your closing documents via overnight courier, NEVER by regular email.
-
Never trust any wire instructions you receive by email (including ones received through our encrypted email system). YOU SHOULD ALWAYS CALL J&M ON ONE OF OUR NUMBERS ON OUR WEBSITE OR ON AN PREVIOUS EMAIL - (NOT A PHONE NUMBER FROM THE EMAIL BY WHICH YOU RECEIVED THE INSTRUCTIONS OR THAT APPEARS ON THE WIRING INSTRUCTIONS) TO CONFIRM WIRE INSTRUCTIONS.
-
You can always send your funds for closing in the form of an Official Bank Check made out to "Johnson & Moore, PA Trust Account."
-
ATTN Wells Fargo Customers: It is our experience that Wells Fargo does not send wires until the end of the day, so J&M recommends that you send wire your funds for closing the day before your closing date to avoid delay in closing.
